Bluetooth Mouse Tips

As we stated, most manufacturers claim their Bluetooth enabled mice can operate within 30 feet of your computer or laptop while some like IOGEAR claim its Optical Mini Mouse with Bluetooth will work up to 66 feet away! However, some folks find that the mouse may start to lag after 6 feet away. The computer needs to keep updating the mouse with information and the farther away, some devices begin to show a time lag as the updates take a little longer to complete.

The best way to use a Bluetooth mouse is with a computer that is already Bluetooth enabled. But if your computer is not already Bluetooth ready then you will need to add the capability or you can use an adapter device such as the one shown below to communicate wirelessly from mouse to computer.

The interesting thing about the type of USB adapter shown above is that it can be used with any other Bluetooth device, like a keyboard, as well. Try doing that with proprietary RF wireless components.

Bluetooth enables mice will also have a number of other desirable features such as ergonomics, rechargeable batteries [and some way to recharge] as well as being lightweight.

As an added hint, try finding a Bluetooth mouse with the new laser tracking system instead of the now common optical tracking. You will find the mouse response about 20 times better.

Devices were mainly manufactured for the PC world in the beginning but Apple lovers are now able to use Bluetooth devices as well.
